A spot of protest-based fist pumping at Public School’s AW17 show today as they took on Donald Trump through the medium of clothing. Because really, how better to manifest your discontentment with general world events than by wearing your ideas right across your chest? “We Need Leaders” one such message read, another: “Make America New York,” echoing those caps that Trump doled out during his campaign. To which we say: here here. But this wasn’t just about making a statement alone, there were, handily, clothes too. Let’s call it an evolution of the Public School girl – big, deconstructed tailoring, sportswear-tinges, huge puffa jackets, leather two-sets, checkered shirts, worn on one shoulder. And on that note – welcome back to New York boys. We’re happy to have you.
