When we work a head to toe look we like to immerse ourselves in the brand as much as possible. Proenza Schouler understand this and so they’re making sure our Proenza immersion is skin deep. Literally. Word has reached us that Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are collaborating with Lancôme on a limited edition make-up collection set for release in July. Apparently they’ve been let loose, no rules, no restrictions, to create a colourful collab of product. If we’re going off their Autumn/ Winter 2018 collection, we can expect palettes filled with rich, deep earthy colours. Our kind of wicked eyeshadow palette. Arizona has been at the heart of their recent collection and perfume, McCollough and Hernandez have been obsessed with its freedom, a desert dream that has ensued a bohemian, swaggering spirit.
Translated into make-up, we imagine the Proenza girl rocking a smokey deep, dark eye, hints of lavish reds and chocolate browns in the mix with a low-key, nude lip to match. It’s always either an eye or a lip, Tenners. Or perhaps it’s the hint of a soft brown in the crease perfectly matched with a rouge lip stain. Bronze those cheeks up, a flush of blush and a heavy duty mascara. We could be way off but we simply must speculate when our favourite fashions meet beauty. Proenza Schouler encapsulates, “the manifesto of a strong free femininity,” general manager of Lancôme, Françoise Lehmann said. “The idea of ‘empowerment’ is at the heart of their values, just as it has always been at the heart of the Lancôme philosophy.” It’s true. There’s a special sort of power one has with a make-up brush in hand, taking control and creating. Whatever it is, we will be working that Proneza x Lancôme collaboration, experimenting, getting inspired, potentially even becoming beauty bloggers. Stranger things have happened.
