An inquisitive crowd gathered on Waterloo Bridge this afternoon, keen to get a glimpse of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi’s AW24 presentation which was taking place on a jetty below. The perfect day for an outdoor runway, sun-soaked models strutted to an uptempo soundtrack fit for a night spent dancing, sporting ruffled and quilted coats akin to the type of duvet you might find on a chic grandma’s bed.
Dainty florals, a classic pattern choice for the brand, appeared throughout, mingling with leopard and harlequin prints to present an updated vision for the incoming season. More club-ready looks appeared down the latter end of the showcase, manifesting as sheer bandeaus and deep plunging maxi dresses that were spattered with feathers and sequins.
Translucent face covers and body-tight black lace added a sexy flare, whilst oversized, furry hats that flapped over ears evoked a series of audible gasps from awe-inspired onlookers. Footwear was clean and cool, with square-toed boots snaking up to thighs and white pointed heels perfectly accessorising the fabulously flouncy garments. Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi’s first ready-to-wear showcase since AW22, this comeback was of the triumphant kind.
