Time for more peeking at the press notes. Illustrated on the back of the Preen by Thornton Bregazzi was a stack of books. Books of feminist artists the likes of Sarah Lucas, Tracey Emin and Carol Ann Duffy. Although she’s actually poet, but that’s art too. Who are we to judge? Phoebe went on a school trip with her once, but that’s a story for another time. Back to our regularly scheduled programming at Preen. There was something of a New Romantic feel as the girls strode out of Juliette Larthe’s painted set. Silky ruffled shirts, with pointed flat boots, socks with sprouting flowers. Flowers always a big part at Preen and AW17 was no exception. Boots, socks, dresses, tops – the lot. We wish we could name them all, but we just aren’t that into horticulture. And there were shinys too. We love something shiny. We are drawn to them like magpies. Catch us down at the club pairing the red chiffon dresses with a sequin polo shirt underneath. Arty and crafty.
