We’re officially approaching the tail end of summer and everyone is trying to cram in a last-minute excursion. Whether its a spiritual healing trip to Mongolia, a girls weekend to Ibiza or just a dogging trip down in Cornwall… Everyone seems to be desperate for those final few days away from real life before we have to give up our Wednesday afternoon beer garden trips for another eight months. Little did you know, a camping getaway is only a tube ride away – Prada is turning the Selfridges Corner Shop into a camping bonanza. Taking place for the whole of September, Prada Escape is a project designed for the traveler at heart. Offering a new perspective on the brand’s AW19 Anatomy of Romance collection, the Corner Shop will be jam-packed with hi-luxe, hi-functional product to tick off all the boxes on your excursion packing list.
We know camouflage is meant to help you blend into your surroundings, but you’re guaranteed not to fade into the shadows here, thanks to Prada camo shirting, jackets and trousers equipped with cargo pockets here, there and everywhere. The rubber-soled boots are perfect for hikes up rocky mountains or simply just dancing the night away at a cheap karaoke bar buried down a side-street in Barcelona. If you’re one all for the exclusives – a range of pens, stickers and traveler’s notebooks designed in collaboration with Japanese stationer Midori will only be available at the Corner Shop. You can also shop from a select range of garments stamped with a yellow Saffiano leather patch commemorating the Selfridges take-over. There’s even Prada-embossed water bottles – fill one up with a frozen mojito you can get from Lidl, throw on a face mask and plonk a tent up in your back garden – et voilà! It’s a glamping experience as approved by Miuccia.
Prada Escape is on display at the Selfridges Corner Shop until September 30th.
