PRADA: AUTUMN/WINTER 14 CAMPAIGN
Luxury clothes, particularly accessories, are often presented as untouchable objects, magnificent pieces of craftsmanship that deserve only to be portrayed as something to gaze upon rather than actually use. This is why we like Prada’s new campaign. Lexi’s bag is open, casually resting upon her thigh. In one shot her hand is inside the bag. In the other, she holds a key. She drives. Fast. Her hair has clearly had a bit of breeze through it. This may just sound like I’m stating the obvious, which I am, but we like how this is being shown as a collection for a woman who wants clothes she can do things in. The carefree attitude is carefully balanced – the pieces in the campaign have an ease to them, yet still hold the show stopping fabulousness we all worship Prada for.
