Snow Beach. Is such a thing even possible? Probably in Dubai, where they’ve likely built a network to create some absurdly elaborate picture when seen from space… Anyway, Snow Beach is, of course, the name of Polo Ralph Lauren’s très iconique Snowboarding collection that’s dressed everyone from mop-headed surfer bros to chain-swinging rappers since its inception all those years ago. Just how many exactly? Twenty-five this year, meaning as far as 2018 anniversaries are concerned, it ranks right up there with twenty years since Britney’s ‘Baby One More Time’, and the ‘Sex and the City’ debut airing. But that’s just our personal list.
In commemoration of this rather momentous occasion, Ralph Lauren are introducing the Limited Edition Polo Snow Beach Collections, a bit of a mouthful, but then again it does comprise of a two-part series; a colour capsule launching on 25th January and a black and white one launching on 1st February. Pen them in. The collection was launched into the streetwear stratosphere by one Raekwon, he of the Wu-Tang Clan, who wore it and looked very cool in the music video for ‘Can It All Be So Simple’ back in 1993. Well, can it? Generally no, but with this capsule it sure is. Pay attention, now. The colour capsule will comprise of ten styles- reissues and new interpretations, while the B&W release includes eight styles that reinvent the original collection but with a modern twist. Capeesh?
The Limited Edition Polo Snow Beach Collections will be available online and select global Polo Ralph Lauren stores, including Polo Ralph Lauren’s flagship store on Regent Street, as well as Selfridge’s, ASOS and End Clothing as well as retail partners beginning in January 2018.
