Last week the fashion masses gathered to celebrate the talents of Mr Peter Pilotto, the latest designer to be bestowed the honour of the V&A’s Fashion In Motion. Showcasing 59 looks from across the duo’s career, “the celebratory runway show juxtaposed Peter Pilotto’s pathbreaking, future-thinking designs with the historic setting of the V&A’s Raphael Gallery featuring the 15th Century Altarpiece of St George.” Oooh. It was a very best-of affair, a greatest hits – a delve backwards into a treasure trove of past designs. Think of it Peter Pilotto’s Immaculate Collection moment. Which was both great and rather torturous, because, well, we were just cursing all the items that we no longer have a chance own ourselves.
