PENG LIYUAN: CHINA’S FIRST LADY OF STYLE AND SONG

Peng Liyuan was first bought to our attention yesterday via NyMag’s The Cut. She is the first lady of China/ folk singer who’s sings of China’s greatness and is about to embark upon her first official trip abroad where she will get to showcase her unique sense of glamour to the citizens of Russia and a few African countries. In the above video for the song Heavenly Road, our favourite Lady Peng song and video, she is wearing a fabulous asymmetric white number which appears to be trimmed in some sort of white fur, over some sort of buttoned up maroon ensemble.  On her head, something that resembles Medusa’s snakes crossed with Princess Leia’s plait buns. I have no idea what she is singling about but she is a very graceful dancer. She has been described as "modern, outgoing, intrigued by fashion.“ She has described her husband as "rustic and old.” Admittedly I have taken that out of context, for she described him that way when she first met him, she later married him and has since become first lady, but I admire a woman who uses the words rustic and old to describe a person. You can read more about Lady Peng here:
