Georgian townhouse in the heart of London’s Mayfair inspired, like the collection, by the 1939 cinematic musical classic The Wizard of Oz and the concept of light prism, opened with a star-studded bash on Friday night.
Truly somewhere over the rainbow, the pop-up transports the visitor far far away from humdrum Kansas (London) into a fantastical adventure to shop the collection; truly evoking Louis Vuitton’s “Art of Travel” ethos to its very essence. From the wondrously esoteric luminescent trunk one encounters at the beginning of the journey, to the wild forests and a sleeping Dorothy submerged in poppy field mania that follow; this is nothing short of a classic Abloh extravaganza.
The experiential store welcomes you into the Louis Vuitton SS19 menswear universe, offering everything from ready-to-wear tailoring to hoodies, via rainbow-hued accessories and an array of utility pieces. On top of all that you can expect to find a selection of freshly-designed leather goods as well as the hotly anticipated updated “Christopher” backpack. Dreams really do come true!
