The signature of Paul Smith is one of fashion’s finest. It’s the multiple, multihued stripe, a brilliant rainbow he’s splashed over every aspect of his fashion empire, from socks to frocks. Colour was saturated throughout his spring offering, sometimes blocks of singular hot colour but more likely in eye popping patterns, like jazzy checks or intarsia knits. There was a trippy, hippy vibe to a lot, the word “PEACE” spelled out on one jumper, neat crocheted collars adding a retro flair to other looks. The whole thing was a psychotropic fashion excursion – but one grounded in the hyper traditional components of the gentleman’s wardrobe. What more can we say? We’d wear it.
