“Hey Mr DJ, put a record on. I wanna dance with my baby”. For all my non-gays out there that was Madonna with ‘Music’. She like invented it or something on her 8th studio album – also titled Music. And whilst we love Madonna here at Ten Towers, this is not about her song Music. Nor even about music about music. Instead, it’s about Paul Smith’s music. Not music he has made himself, but his top favs. He’s collaborated with Apple to come up with not one, not two, but three playlists that remind him of the good old days. First is ‘From Herbie to Holiday’ for those jazz lovers out there, with songs from Miles Davis and Billie Holiday. Paul likes these songs early on in the morning. ‘Around the World in 20 Tracks’ which Paul says “they remind me of all my years spent travelling around the world on trains and planes”. Last, but not least is ‘Something Old, Something New’ which really says it all. There really is something for everybody. So say thanks to Paul and spend the rest of the week being totally antisocial with your headphones in rocking out like you’re Mr Smith himself. And obviously Amen to Queen Madge. Thank you for the music.
