Let’s call this collaboration a celebration of the best in British design – a fusion of furniture and fashion – one that will solve your lighting problems forever more. Sound exciting? Allow us to introduce you, then, to the latest collaboration between Paul Smith and Anglepoise who have teamed up for the fourth time on a series of lamps because, as the age-old adage goes: if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. For any of you unfamiliar with Anglepoise, we direct you to your current desk lamp because it was either made by them, or, if you’re cheap, it’s a knock off. You may also recognise the design from the beginning of Pixar movies, where the lamp bounces on the “I” until it’s squashed. That one. This latest collab was introduced as part of NYCxDESIGN, a citywide celebration of, well, design – and involves a multicoloured version of Anglepoise’s Type 70 lamp – this time in new little and large versions. If you’re wondering which would be most suitable for your own needs, let us refer you to Paul himself – “the giant one is pretty extraordinary and in a big space looks sensational, whilst the mini is perfect for studies or for students working in smaller spaces”. We’re going big. Obviously.
The new Anglepoise + Paul Smith lamps will be available to pre-order from Paul Smith online and from selected retailers worldwide from 19th May 2017 for delivery in August.
