We love us some Pat here at Ten HQ. The queen of maquillage – what this woman can do to a face, well, she might even be able to make us look attractive (ugh okay, we know – she’s not a magician). When it comes to make-up, Pat is very very good. The best, even. Fitting, then, that she has just been announced as the recipient of this year’s Isabella Blow Award at Monday’s Fashion Awards in London. Honoured from a career that spans from her early work with photographer Steven Meisel (a relationship that continues to this day) all the way through to her runway work with Prada, Miu Miu, Versace, Margiela (and the many others between) and now, her own make-up line, Pat McGrath Labs. But to summarise her career as such does her no justice – with innumerable achievements and iconic images that bear her name, when it comes to make-up – Pat is a true artist, unafraid of pushing boundaries.
The Isabella Blow Award, just like its namesake, recognises the innovators in fashion – those that have, with their work, changed the entire fashion landscape. McGrath will join luminaries like Nick Knight, Edward Enninful, Lady Amanda Harlech, Bruce Weber and Professor Louise Wilson, who have all won the award previously. Massive congratulations from Ten Towers – truly deserved!
