Nothing says Crimbo shopping in the capital than a trip down to Harrods, does it? The Knightsbridge retail mecca is as Christmas-y as a pyramid of pigs-in-blankets, or a Mariah Carey CD wrapped in tinsel. It doesn’t get more festive than that.
If the building’s glistening exterior wasn’t enough to draw you inside, Harrods has called upon cult London skatewear brand Palace to open a pop-up store inside its hallowed halls.
Open this weekend, December 10-12, the pop-up space on the menswear floor blends the iconography of Harrods with all that’s great about Palace. The collection comes coated in Harrods’ signature green, with highlight pieces including long-sleeves, hoodies and a leather varsity jacket stamped with Palace’s tri-ferg logo which comes perforated with a depiction of Harrods’ exterior.
You’ll also be able a splash out on a Palace rendition of a classic Harrods Christmas hamper, which includes a woolly hat, socks, and plenty of bubbly. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of fizz, would it?
“When we decided to collaborate with Palace, a Christmas capsule was intrinsically our first thought, specifically the legendary Christmas hamper,” says Simon Longland, head of menswear at Harrods. “Palace is famed for merging its DNA with other brands and retailers to create a wholly original and unexpected collection, and it’s hugely exciting for us that they have joined forces with a brand as iconic as ours.”
