Julien Dossena’s Paco Rabanne AW22 show was a big splash of 1980s fashion. An explosion of classic Paco Rabanne – chainmail, pleats and ruffles – were futuristic and steeped in romance. Add a dose of sensory overload thanks to a light-changing set and we were left wondering, ‘Are we in the Virgin Atlantic upper class or in an optic therapy room?’
There were bell sleeves on jackets, lurex and mohair knits in pinks, baby blues and lilacs, puff skirts and tailoring. Put them all together and you have the most delicious gaggle of looks, perfect for nights spent on the dancefloor. The classic Paco Rabanne silver chainmail came down in a dress with a ruffle high neck, long sleeve, and a peplum skirt with a flirty slit. The finale was a baby doll style dress with lilac mohair delicately woven into the front, worthy of anyone who has somewhere fun enough to go. These are the sort of looks you’d wear to go out-out – don’t let them sit at home, they need to be seen and celebrated.
