Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s No 21 girls came down that runway charged up with a new found power, almost as if they were plugged into Dell’Acqua’s own personal energy circuit. Apparently it’s this “new-woman” thinking. They’re in charge. This is the kind of woman who is boldly feminine. She’s decisive, she knows what she wants and how to get it. Powerful and courageous. Courageous, because Dell’Acqua has dressed her for the role. She will do as she likes. The No.21 rebel. A sense of strength around the array of fabrics used. And complete chaos. But we love chaos, especially when it’s done like this. Pick a fabric any fabric was the motto. It was his collage, a scrapbook of ideas. Tiered layers of mesh, chiffon, satin, fishnets, and feminine floral prints because Dell’Acqua is still dressing his woman. And pom poms to spice up your life. This girl is travelling, collecting and living. She takes a little piece of everywhere with her and wears it well, like a charms on a bracelet but sewn, belted, fastened and layered to create her look, her wardrobe. There are no rules here. Just the simplicity of boundless freedom.
