Category is: Prada realness. Everyone’s favourite Italian powerhouse is turning to the simple life to promote the launch of their Cruise 2020 collection. And no, we’re not talking about the cult noughties show starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The simple life according to Miuccia Prada finds the extraordinary in the ordinary, updating the wardrobe staples and turning them into new classics. Lifting the imagery from the static nature of a piece of paper, the photographs are given another life in the form of a floral bouquet wrapper. The campaign is a collaboration of two photographers – Drew Vickers captured the cast of your usual Prada models in stoic, yearbook-like greyscale portraits. Turning those images into objects, legendary Japanese photographer Keizo Kitajima then photographed the models with floral arrangements in motion, amid the madness of the city hustle and bustle. The unifying element in this project is true beauty in its simplest form – found in every facet of the everyday. A full-look Prada? That’s the kind of reality we’d love to live in any day of week.
