Lock down your aerial. Alongside Hackney-based internet radio station, NTS, Bottega Veneta is putting neo-sound radio to the test with a series of collaboratively produced musical soundscapes that will launch monthly under the appellation Bottega Radio. Created to engender fresh conversations between NTS residents and special guest stars, it’s an innovative cultural partnership that will feature both emerging and established musicians across the globe.
Under newly appointed creative director Matthieu Blazy, the Italian luxury house kicked things off last week with a celebratory West End party at London’s Stone Nest. The function featured DJ sets and live performances from PLZ Make It Ruins boss and Frank Ocean collaborator Vegyn, experimental hip-hop auteur Slauson Malone, emerging talent John Glacier, and collaborative duo Sky & Mika Oki. Even the elusive Dean Blunt swung by.
Available to stream now, the first episode is a subversive sonic experience produced with autotune enthusiast Tim Zha a.k.a Organ Tapes together with L.A’s Jazmin, an expert in Latin music and resident host for NTS show Como La Flor. If you haven’t yet indulged in the soft sounds of the pilot episode, you can listen back via the Bottega Veneta App available to download from the app store. Headphones in, world out.
