There’s a healthy number of fashion rental services on the block right now, but none quite like MatchesFashion’s first. The new online service from the industry leading retailer has been made available for clients to hire out the most luscious of looks, calling upon both clothing and accessories expertly curated by the MatchesFashion buying team. Right now, the temporary keepsakes on offer are geared toward celebrating the holiday season. We’re talking gowns galore, plenty of partywear and glitter galore. From contemporary labels like Aje, Cecilie Bahnsen, Emilia Wickstead, Kika Vargas, Self Portrait and Taller Marmo, the options are almost limitless. There are also a selection of MatchesFashion exclusive styles too, namely from 16Arlington, Nensi Dojaka and The Vampire’s Wife.
The debut rental enterprise is powered by revolutionary platform Hurr. A Certified B Corp founded in 2018 by CEO Victoria Prew, Hurr’s mission is to reinvent ownership by providing all the short-cuts to a sustainable wardrobe through the process of renting. Lengthening the lifespans of high-octane wardrobes, it’s all the legs of the luxe life without the blaring pound signs or environmental waste.
Meanwhile, the digital debut is set to be celebrated via a four-week pop-up at MatchesFashion’s Mayfair townhouse from November 21 to December 23, bringing luxury rental to life. Located at 5 Carlos Place, it’s a seamlessly integrated physical customer touchpoint, paving the way forward toward total industry circularity. There, you can try-on items in store and arrange same-day rentals, but you can also reserve stock for future events. All items can be loaned over four, eight, 10 and 20 day periods as well. So whether you’ve got a festive white-wedding, an office Christmas party or some other kind of holiday hoopla penciled in, whatever you wear will simply be waiting.
