Roll up, roll up. It’s that time of year again where fashion’s freshest young talent compete in the Hunger Games of the fashion world. Thankfully, the nominees aren’t fighting to the death, but for a whopping 300,000 euros, and a year-long mentorship from a dedicated LVMH team. Whittled from 1,700 applications down to 20 semi-finalists, the list is littered with designers helming from London.
The distorted tailoring of Kiko Kostadinov, and the dystopian exploration of the contemporary streetwear silhouette mastered by Paria Farzaneh, lead the pack as strong contenders for the grand prize. Other notable nominees are Richard Malone, recent Fashion East graduates Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt, along with the latest recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award, Bethany Williams.
A panel of 62 experts, including Naomi Campbell, Adrian Joffe, and Edward Enninful OBE, have the power of choosing the eight designers who will head into the final. Previous winners of the prize include Marine Serre, Grace Wales Bonner and Jacquemus. Read the full list of nominees below:
