Personally, if given carte blanche to go wherever, do whatever, behind the scenes at Hermès, we’d probably try to steal something. Just a small memento. Koto Bolofo, though, would rather take a picture. Which is probably wise. Wouldn’t want to risk being banned from that leather heaven. The result is La Maison, 11 volumes exploring the until-now-kept-behind-closed-doors ateliers. Everything, from saddle making through to special orders and even the gardens, is captured in pared-down black and white and glorious colour. Out now.
