IRVING PENN & ISSEY MIYAKE: VISUAL DIALOGUE

From September 16th 21_21 Design Sight in Tokyo plays host to an exciting new exhibition which explores the development of Irving Penn and Issey Miyake’s collaborative work. Focusing specifically on a period between 87 and 99 in which Penn was given complete freedom to capture Miyake’s collections in the way he saw fit. Miyake took the unusual decision to not be present at these photo sessions, which resulted in a trusting form of ‘visual dialogue’ between the two creatives. A must see show that’s on until April 8th, and a must read (above) for those who can’t hot foot it down to Tokyo.
