Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert Announced As Creative Director of Swarovski

Today, rather sparkly history was made. Swarovski, for the first time since its inception 125 years ago, has appointed a company-wide creative director. Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert joins the Swarovski family as the jewellery giant turns an exciting new corner. This Milanese fashion darling has dipped her toe into every aspect of the industry. Starting out her career as a model, Battaglia Englebert went on to be both a stylist and an editor. She has styled for the likes of Michael Kors and Carolina Herrera, and was both a senior editor of Vogue Japan and a contributing editor for W.  She also worked alongside Anna Dello Russo as fashion editor at L’Uomo Vogue.

For decades, Swarovski has been illuminating the world of fashion, design, entertainment, in general the whole creative industry. I am thrilled to be leading the creative vision of a cultural powerhouse like Swarovski in the future,” wrote Battaglia Englebert in an Instagram post. “I am pleased to welcome a brilliant creative mind and strong female leader like Giovanna to our company,” added Swarovski CEO Robert Buchbauer. “With her remarkable track record in the industry, she will explore new frontiers and become a vital part in writing the next chapter of our success story.” Congratulations Giovanna!
