If Depop isn’t doing it for you and your Balenciaga bags aren’t selling via Vestiaire, then boy-oh-boy have we got news for you. The brand has announced that it’s launching its own re-sell program.
Currently available in the UK, US, Italy, France and Singapore, the initiative aligns with Balenciaga’s goal of becoming a fully sustainable company. The program was developed in partnership with Reflaunt – a tech and logistics platform that aims to implement circular models for fashion brands – in a bid to foster the cyclical practice of reducing, reusing and recycling.
If you’re wondering how it all works, then read on for the breakdown. First, products can be dropped off at participating Balenciaga stores or collected by a scheduled service which is accessible online. Clients will then be met with expert consignment support and assistance on their re-sell journey. The items are then documented, authenticated, professionally photographed, priced and listed as part of Reflaunt’s global network that involves more than 25 secondary marketplaces. Once purchased, your Balenciaga bits will be shipped to their new, homes and maybe the cycle will even continue in time.
And what’s in it for you? Financial compensation or store credit (so you don’t really have to part with your Balenciaga, you can just buy more!) And on the other end of the sale, with just the click of a button you can get your little hands on some pre-loved Balenciaga goodies. A win-win.
