In news announced mere moments ago (eleven minutes at time of writing) iformer head (and founder) of Net-a-Porter, current British Fashion Council chairwoman and Dame of the British Empire Natalie Massenet has got herself a brand new job as non-executive Co-Chairman of Farfetch. Being illiterate in business-based terms, we’re not entirely sure what this means, but it’s something big and important, working alongside José Neves, CEO, Founder and executive Co-Chairman of the e-tailer. “I have, since Net-A-Porter launched, been a huge admirer of Natalie,” he said this morning. “She really is THE undisputed pioneer, paving the way for the rest of us by demonstrating that not only could luxury be sold online but also that the internet would eventually become the primary way consumers engage with brands, globally.” Nats added, “I am honoured and excited to support José and the Farfetch team as they continue to build a unique vision of what the future of fashion and technology looks like… when José asked me to come on board it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.” Massive congrats to Natalie from all at 10. Can we get a discount please?
