Designer Massimo Giorgetti has a special way of thinking about the MSGM girl. He imagines she’s in a film he’s directing and works from there. Here’s the heart print party dress she wore for a first date that didn’t go to plan, and the graphic polo shirt and straight-leg jeans she pulled on without thinking because she was late for a lecture. There’s the boyfriend blazer she stole from her best friends brother (whom she has a crush on but he never looks at her). As for the taffeta flounce hemmed mini dress – she wore that to the gig where they finally kissed. The beauty of MSGM is that it works in real life but you could never call it basic. This brand has resonance. Girogetti knows and understands the young women he’s designing for and gives them a wardrobe that’s as interesting as they are.
