Msgm: Cruise 2016

There’s something about this that I can’t quite put my finger on. It feels a little retro, a little sixties, but not. Does that make sense? Probably not. Think of the MSGM girl as a sort of bohemian tomboy. The tomboy part comes in the oversized, longer length chiffon shirts and suede culottes, which for some reason make me think of ultra suede, which would in turn, make this more seventies than sixties, but to be honest, it feels above decades, hence the free mixing of them. This isn’t boyish though, it’s not overtly masculine, there’s a felinity that lies beneath. A delicacy. The bohemian element kicks in with the prints, those almost earthy toned swirls that look like a distorted aerial view of a large city, and the patch worked fabrics, that add an element of art student, a sort of Camberwell vibe.
