Moschino: Ready-To-Wear AW25

Three seasons into his creative director role at Moschino and Adrian Appiolaza is beginning to motor. Full of wit, fun and distinctive clothes as well as the contemporary commentary that is a signature of the brand, he presented his strongest Moschino collection yet.

He spoke before the show about the founder Franco Moschino, summing up the unique spirit of the brand, “He [Moschino] was about the chaos of ideas put together in a way that feels fun and festive.” He didn’t hold back on ideas.

From sartorial tailoring bearing tailors marks and stitches and worn with stockman-style turtleneck knits and stiff little bell shaped mini dresses in moulded felt to bin bag dresses (worn with a globe hand bag) and sofa cushion hats atop eiderdown coats. There were witty accessories aplenty from viral clutch bags shaped like cherry tomato spaghetti or paper boats or earring that looked like lightbulb. “Luxury Is Relative” blared a sweat shirt and this collection was certainly rich in ideas.

Appiolaza closed his show with Alex Consani carrying bin bags handbags and wearing a T-shirt dress with a picture of the globe and the words “SOS” written underneath. When he took his bow, the designer’s own black T-shirt  blared, “Don’t Be Silent.” He’s making plenty of noise at Moschino.
