I fucking love ABBA. I don’t care if anyone says that they aren’t cool, I think they’re amazing. When I was at college (and had no friends) I would come home on Friday nights and get drunk alone listening to my favourite ABBA album – ABBA Gold: The Greatest Hits. I would laugh, I would cry, I would dance – it was perfect. And who doesn’t love a greatest hits? All of the best things you love rolled into one bulging burrito of aural intensity. Miuccia Prada must also have greatest hits on her mind as she has decided to dig some out of the archive for the enjoyment of fash geeks like myself. However it would be far too obvious to pick the best of Prada so instead it is the turn of younger sister Miu Miu to shine. To celebrate the newest short film from Women’s Tales a selection of looks from SS11 through to SS16 have been chosen. It’s their time to shine again! Unfortunately the looks are being presented at the store on 57th in NY. So you know what that means? For the rest of the time you have left of this bank holiday weekend you need to get yourself there. Otherwise you’re going to miss out on those amazing witchy glitter boots from AW13, or the mirrored shirt dress, patterned tie extravaganza from AW12, or the amazing tie-dyed fur stole from SS13 and so many more. My favourite? Well that’s just impossible you can’t make me choose. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme from ABBA though – that’s easy. And very apt for my activities over the bank holiday weekend.
Miu Miu Club celebrating its Women’s Tales films and featuring its archive collection will be at the brand’s boutique at 11 East 57th Street from April 28 through May 8.
