“Men should be like Kleenex, soft, strong and disposable,” according to Cher. We think that leather should be the same (though not disposable) which is why we’ve fallen for Miu Miu’s new Madras collection hook, line and sinker. Madras you see, is, as well as a curry sauce, a city in South India that is famous for its leather. This leather is soft and at the same time, strong. Just like Klennex. Miu Miu have made a collection of bags out of this soft but strong leather. They look nice, no? We envisage them on the arm of a beautiful (and very wealthy) lady – perhaps with her chiwawa or alternative breed of diamond-collared toy dog poking its head out of the top. ‘Miu Miu Madras bag’ is sure to feature on letters heading North Pole-wards from the chimney here at Ten Towers over the next couple of weeks. Please Santa, we’ve been very good this year.
