Superstar-stylist and all-round cool girl Lotta Volkova has joined forces with the Geneva-born artist Senta Simond to create a photographic series for Miu Miu. Quite the triumvirate. The result is the confrontational and captivating Shifting Viewpoints. Fresh-faced girls lounge in front of Simond’s lens, dressed in Miu Miu’s AW19, post-runway collections and lashings of iconic cocktail-worthy diamanté and pearl jewellery, styled with the signature Volkova twist.
Think Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries, but instead of learning table manners, she’s taught about the history of the female gaze. Empowered yet feminine, the Miu Miu girls have a sense of tenacity uninterrupted by the girly elements making up their wardrobe. The models’ portraits are captured from intimate yet never compromising angles, with an uncompromisable assertive and emotive agency. Side note: we’re aware it’s only mid-October, but is it ever too early to get excited about Christmas party dressing? If you didn’t already want to be a Miu Miu girl, here’s betting you do now.
