Michael Kors: Ready-to-wear AW20

Allow yourself to slip into something more comfortable. But don’t even think about putting on your old favourite trackies. This is the world of Michael Kors – a place where comfort is luxury, and luxury is comfort. For his AW20 collection, the king of funny quips and all-American fashion gave us cashmere blanket capes, shearling mufflers and chunky knitted scarves. It’s the meeting of town and country à la Kors, keeping in with his usual sense of polish but clearly going away from building wardrobes of those stuck on the busy streets of New York City.

For their move upstate, Kors is providing his women with sleek tailoring, boho pussy-bow dresses, fancy riding trousers with leather detailing and slouchy wool trousers. But don’t you think their nightlife is left forgotten. After all, Kors used to spend his sleepless nights at Studio 54, rubbing shoulders with Grace Jones and Bianca Jagger. He even missed his school prom to party at the notorious club. Hence why his upstate swans still want to feel glamorous while sipping on some fine red wine next to the fire. Furry coats worn without anything underneath and slinky metallic frocks will make sure that, even if they find their way back to the city, no one will think of them as country gals. Musically supported with a live set from masked musician Orville Peck, this show proved that wherever you are, there’s no excuse for not looking fabulous.
