How’s your serve? No matter how skilled you are with a tennis racket, the new collaboration between MSGM and FILA will have you feeling like you’re Naomi Osaka. Launched as part of FILA’s 110th-anniversary celebrations, MSGM creative director Massimo Giorgetti was given free rein to trawl through the FILA archives – creating a tennis-infused capsule that harnesses a cool, inner-city spirit.
Dubbed You Are My Match Point, the collection merges MSGM’s eye for explosive colour with classic FILA silhouettes. Ranging from halter neck tops and mini skirts, to polo shirts, shorts and tees, each piece comes emblazoned in MSGM’s tie-dye and marble prints – encased in bubblegum pink, black and white, as well as glorious technicolour.
Aside from us rookies, the capsule collection will also be worn by Karolina Pliskova, Sofia Kenin, Reilly Opelka and Diego Schwartzman whilst playing in Paris. Wowza, what a line-up!
“FILA, for me, is the tennis court” writes Massimo Giorgetti. “I wanted to give a romantic interpretation of it, echoing a cinematic world. In visiting the FILA archives, I was surprised by how much they have done over the decades. I just had to remix and update it.”
