Like many of us, Ludovic de Saint Sernin spent a large chunk of lockdown infinitely scrolling through TikTok. Inbetween learning Doja Cat dances and getting lost in an endless supply of haul videos, the Paris-based designer began to think about how he could create the ultimate LDSS E-Boy look.
Skipping the emo look for something a tad more sensual, Ludovic took his design inspiration from his own community and the legion of fans who pose in his clothes across Instagram (the designer has his very own NSFW account where boys are allowed to explore their sensual side freely, without judgement).
Dotted throughout the collection are rainbow-hued, woollen twin-sets that cling to the models’ forms, LDSS Swarovski-embellished crop tops in varsity-style lettering and barely-there going-out dresses for the girls missing the dancefloor. The designer’s signature eyelet trousers make a return, in leather, vinyl, and for the first time, denim. Ludovic wanted to create the perfect set of jeans both him and his friends could wear through the everyday, available in four different variations. Some trousers come scribbled in the sketches of young British artist Jack Taylor, who adorned a white pair of jeans with male characters dancing around a big red heart – proper cute, indeed.
Once more, Ludovic de Saint Sernin is able to find that perfect balance between deeply sensual dress that simultaneously feels tender and gentle. If we ever take a stab at becoming a TikTok megastar, you know where we’ll be heading for our custom influencer wardrobe.
