Latex, brocade and openwork knitwear go hand in hand in the new Koché collection. The brand’s AW22 offering connects historical garb with the modern needs of individualism and strength. The result is sleek, sexy and abundantly charming.
The brand’s founder, Christelle Kocher, emphasises the role of poetry in the everyday life, and there is something lyrical about the mermaid-like silhouettes and contrasting textures of the collection. The clothes provide for a wardrobe of a 21st century Gothic heroine, however, rather than hiding in a castle, she takes her tapestries to Berghain.
Even the most seemingly-prosaic of items — jeans, bomber jackets, hoodies – got the aristocratic treatment. Pants are ornamented with frills, and the colour palette includes royal blue, gold, and black.
There is a wide range of pieces on offer, including semi-transparent, lace slip dresses, to oversize tracksuits and cobalt blue angular blazers. There is harmony in opposites, and no need to choose between chic and comfort — everything fuses in this carnivale of elegance.
