Yesterday’s Homme Plissé Issey Miyake film took a quieter approach than we’re used to from the brand. Through the pandemic, the label has produced a slew of high-paced fashion films, often featuring elaborate dance routines, synchronised movements, and models suspended in the air. For SS22, models simply had to stand there, as giant shadows overcast their frames.
As dark circles moved across the screen, Issey Miyake’s iconic Plisse staples appeared to move like waves. This season’s collection was particularly gentle, whether it was chocolate brown tracksuits, muted cardies, or three-quarter-length shorts.
Through innovation, consistensy and the desire to dress the everyday, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is a pillar to the most desirable wardrobes out there. There’s no sign of that changing anytime soon.
