A trip to the dancefloor isn’t just sweet release for Courrèges designer Nicolas Di Felice – it’s a place of profound inspiration. Since taking the helm of the house in 2020, the hedonism that comes with a night spent on the tiles has guided his design hand. Queuing up, getting stamped, buying shots, copping off, dancing till your feet ache. A proper good night out does wonders for the soul – Felice will be the first to tell you.
An afterparty the brand threw after its womenswear show last September became the starting point for the designer’s latest men’s and pre-fall collections. Christened Courrèges Club, the more-rave-than-typical-fashion party was held in a parking lot in the outskirts Paris, and is due to become a regular club night in the city.
For Felice, it is “a joy to continue to see the clothes we propose worn in this universe that is so dear to me”. And so, he invited the DJs who played his night, and the partygoers who were up till sunrise, to model this season’s looks. The likes of VTSS, Sene and door girl Allegria Torassa come clad in scanty togs made from club-ready varnished jersey and stretch satin, fashioning ketchupy-red bodysuits, trucker jackets with fuzzy collars and tiny bra-tops – all worn with sneakers, block-heeled sandals and latex socks. At Courrèges Club, the dress code is come as you are, with skin-baring fashions encouraged for all. Grab some change for the cloakroom, and prepare to sweat.
