Ever since the country went into lockdown, the team at Alexander McQueen has been keeping us prepped and inspired with the McQueen Creators series. Each week, the brand has invited their Instagram followers to artistically engage with a selection of images pulled from both McQueen’s latest and most legendary collections. This week is the turn of print and marks the first of the brand’s digital tutorials. Kicking things off is long-time McQueen collaborator Simon Ungless. Creative director Sarah Burton personally picked Ungless to lead the first tutorial because of his tremendous history with the house. Ungless collaborated with Lee Alexander McQueen on some of his most iconic collections, including The Birds (SS95) and Dante (AW96). Ungless actually introduced Sarah Burton to McQueen in 1996 after teaching her as a budding young student at Central Saint Martins. The tutorial will give a step-by-step guide into how you can make your own print, using whatever you have lying around the house. Ungless will also share his own personal projects and will guide you in creating a print using some of McQueen’s most recognisable prints. It’s time to get crafty!
Keep locked into @AlexanderMcQueen for all things #McQueenCreators.
