This is just really rather cool isn’t it? Clothes for smoking illicit cigarettes behind the bike sheds on your lunch break. it makes me think of all those weird fifties films about rebel girls who won’t conform, choosing to the fast line straight to hell. Girls like the Mini Skirt Mob, who played around with murder like they played around with men. The only difference between them and the McQ lady is the lack of good girl head band. Otherwise, all the essentials are there. Belted anoraks updated in clear plastic with thick black zips, polka dot cut out pvc flashing both red under layers and flesh. Slithers of midriff, thigh grazing hems and animal prints in the form of more a tortoise shell than a leopard, and fleshy pink leathers. Well, if you’re gonna be be part of a rebel girl mob, you might as well dress the part. Dress to strike fear into the hearts of your mortal enemies. Or at least inspire jealousy. That’s half the fun.
