It’s time to raise your flutes of the finest Italian prosecco in toast to a decade of Max Mara’s The Cube. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the featherweight down coat collection, for AW18 (and just in time for the colder climes) the Maison is releasing a revamped and ‘r-evolutionised’ super-light version of its signature three-quarter length wrap robe de chambre jacket in an elegante classic black.
Crafted and refined in Max Mara’s research and development centre, the cutting-edge coat is modelled on models from the brand’s extensive archive and fabricated from ultra-light, water-resistant seven-denier nylon and filled with premium-quality feathers. A modular piece of design, the coat can be accessorised with detachable cuffs, and if you’re feeling particularly extra you can add some fur or jewel trims. But why is the project titled The Cube you chorus? Well the piece packs down into a handy, you guessed it, cube-shaped travel box. And the ultra-light anniversary edition of the jacket come in a new mini sized cube. Would that be thinking outside or inside the box? Suitable for any occasion, The Cube La Superleggera is truly a testament to Italian design – there’s no doubt about it or should I say: non ci piove!
