If you happen to be flipping through today’s copy of The Guardian, make sure not to skip the centrefold, as it happens to be holding some actual fashion gold. One of our favourite young British designers, Matty Bovan designed a big graphic poster as a special spread for today’s issue, turning newspaper into possibly the best wrapping paper of the season. In true Bovan style, it’s overflowing with colour and graphics, with Matty’s signature face shapes taking (quite literally) the centre stage. Paintings of snowmen he did as a child, and enlarged imagery of yarns, against a procession of indeterminate beasts, formed from a repeat graphic of the Matty Bovan logo – all is there, ready to be butchered by your questionable wrapping skills.
Have an office Secret Santa but no idea for a solid £10 present? This piece is every maximalist’s dream so if you know one, get yourself a copy and make even the most boring, expected item just a bit more fabulous. And if you’re anything like us, you will get at least a couple – one for someone else, and another one to hang on your own wall. Deck the halls with Matty’s poster, sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la…
