That Marni magic was happening on the moon today in Milan. Well, the girls walked to Arthur Russell’s “This Is How They Walk On The Moon” and it makes sense. This was another planets utopia. Consuelo Constaglioni’s utopia. A distraction from earth. So to the moon we went, Marni style. It was a layered construction, oversized utility pockets hung like a harness. Strapless backpacks and shielding glasses like moon goggles, these girls were getting to work, building a world of their own. Fine pleats were fanned out and rouched on skirts and voluminous sleeves. Embellished drop earrings like planets swung to the beat of the girls swagger, diamonds in the sky. Printed dresses glinted with the hint of sequin embroideries, a peek of what this world has to offer. That colour blocking was out in full force, before the storm blues met pastel yellows like corn fields blowing in the wind. Planet Marni is where it’s at. One way ticket, per favore.
