MADAME GRES: COUTURE AT WORK

We love the grecian goddess look here at 10 Towers. Our lovely editrix for example exudes goddessy-ness from head to toe. Some of us are not naturally gifted in this way, however help is at hand. If we don’t convey goddess vibes we can reach for a suitable dress to help us channel the look. You know the sort; something long, flowing and softly pleated, instantly glamorous. Available widely now, but pioneered by one woman; couturier Madame Gres.

An inspiration to designers from Givenchy to Alaia, Mme. Gres’ beautiful work is on display at the Musee Bordelle in Paris until the 24th July, along with photographs by the likes of Beaton and Avedon and surrounded by the museum’s collection of (very relevant) classical greek sculputure.
