It’s been a long time since M.A.C revealed they were doing a collection in honour of Aaliyah, and knowing they shouldn’t have left us without some dope products to step to, they’ve finally released full collection info. The collaboration includes 12 products, all approved by Aaliyah’s actor/ director brother Rashad Haughton. “We wanted the line to represent the totality of my sister’s story in beauty,” Rashad said. “There are products I named like ‘Try Again,’ ‘Street Thang,’ and ‘More Than a Woman.’ Other names I chose convey more aspects of my sister’s life and experience.” Allow us to go back and forth through all the goods. It begins with a big shimmering golden bronzer, the packaging is so ‘90s glam in a glossy berry purple, so slick, dark and dangerous. She would be proud.
The eyeshadow palette is ready for us to work our Try Again look, the shimmery purple named ‘Magic Moor’ we have decided will be mixed with a little of that frosty silvery shimmer ‘Lovesmoke.’ Darker shadows ‘Care 4 You’ and ‘Dance in the Dark’ are giving us underground nightclub vibes where we will get low with our non existent hip hop clique. A concept and very ‘If Your Girl Only Knew.’ If you know, you know. Moving on, the lips are hot like fire, obvs, and M.A.C are giving us the whole experience with on-point liners, glosses in shiny nudes and deep purples and the lipsticks, oh the lipsticks. It’s the ultimate ‘We Need A Resolution’ music video red, crowned ‘Hot Like…’ alongside a nude in ‘Try Again’ and the deepest dark black in ‘Street Thing.’ If at first you don’t succeed with your M.A.C x Aaliyah make-up look, just dust yourself off and try again. Literally.
