A miniature, according to that hallowed source of all knowledge, Google (what did people do before Google? Go to libraries? Look through books? Really?) is a copy or model that represents or reproduces something in greatly reduced size. It can also be a tiny painting. But in this case it’s not. It’s a bag. A tiny Louis Vuitton bag. Three tiny Louis Vuitton bags actually. All good things are better smaller. Portions of food, vodka bottles, feet. Take pigs, for example. Which would you rather keep in your home – a teacup pig or a proper, full-grown hog? Small is beautiful, or so we’ve been told.
The Alma BB
Alma was reserved as a title for classical goddesses and gained wider popularity as a girls’ name after the battle of Alma in the 19th century. In Latin Alma means gentle, loving, bounteous one. The spiritually supportive one. This Alma has smooth, bowling-ball-bag lines and short handles. We can’t help but think that she would be a very supportive presence in your life.
The Monceau BB
Apparently a noun, a monceau can mean a collection of objects that have been laid on top of each other. A large number or amount, as in lots of monceaus. Or a small mass of soft material. Such as a wad of cotton wool. Or it can mean a Monceau BB bag, which is also a small mass of soft material. Soft leather, in fact. Soft leather that has been fashioned into a tiny, satchel-like bag that isn’t a satchel. Monceau is also a stop on the Paris Métro. And a park. Parc Monceau, in Paris.
The Pochette Accessoires
The Pochette can be a tiny pocket, but also a tiny handbag, which makes sense, seeing as we are on the subject of small bags by Louis Vuitton. It is also a tiny (think miniature) violin that was designed to fit in a pocket and was played by dance masters in royal courts until the 18th century. You could, if you were a pochette player, carry it around in your Pochette Accessoires. Doesn’t one pochette deserve another?
