LACOSTE: NEW YORK A/W 12 BACKSTAGE GIRLS DAY 1

The knitwear at Lacoste this season had an It’ll Never Work scuba diving aspect. No wait, just me being stupid again, it’s ski- wear inspired isn’t it? Our Sophie in the office goes skiing all the bloody time and loves Lacoste’s new direction. Sorry, she’s just seen me writing this, and apparently its snow boarding (far cooler). She does however agree to desperately needing a pair of the zippey glovey sleeve thingeys at the top of this post. She’s a child of grunge you see, and they leave her nostalgic for school sweaters with thumbholes forced through. Rest of the collection would also suit, with beanies, leather wedge boots and the like. Then theres the pieces that are a little out of her comfort zone, when everything starts to go kind of Pierre Cardin. A little Bond girl ski-lodge, nothing underneath my knit type thing. Loves these too apparently?! And that’s what a decent brand ought to do isn’t it? Feed you variations on your staples and throw in a few ‘it’s not really me, but i had to have it!’ moments.
