Two weeks ago, it was announced that KNWLS would be the inaugural recipient of Fashion East’s latest initiative, XLNC Programme. Partnering with Ugg, the scheme will provide continued support for the alumni of Lulu Kennedy’s talent incubator, with KNWLS recieving a £20,000 grant.
Designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault were also given investment towards their SS23 show, held in a concrete building site within The Mills Fabrica in Kings Cross. The pair cleverly expanded on their widely adored – and increasingly duped – signatures. Second-skin bodysuits were littered with Swarovski crystals, corsetry came sliced and diced to expose erogenous zones and the pair’s super sharp ankle boots frothed with Ugg’s staple shearling.
Glittered locks unleashed a more playful side to the KNWLS looks, with the design duo meeting their go-to rustic hues with bubble gum pink and porcelain blue to fashion their floral-printed frocks and leather mini skirts lined with piercings. Don’t be fooled, though. She might be showing a softer side, but the KNWLS woman still has serious bite.
