Opting out of London Fashion Week’s chaos, Knwls has unveiled its AW25 collection, Baby, via a lookbook that oozes off-duty It-girl energy. Captured through the enigmatic, hyper-realistic lens of Canadian photographer Jeff Wall, the images follow Iris Law and Shivaruby Premkanthan as they mooch around the sleek surroundings of a late modernist home, embodying the kind of effortless cool that, ironically, takes a lot of effort.
They slouch into mid-century leather armchairs, drape themselves over a smoky fireplace and gaze dreamily into the misty garden – an intoxicating blend of nonchalance and control. Law, at one point, sprawls drowsily in an oversized hoodie, her expression screaming “WTF happened last night?” The outing feels like a fever dream of the ‘00s club scene, but refined, distilled through Knwls’ razor-sharp lens.
Every look pulses with the intoxicating energy of debaucherous nights out fused with the edgy posturing of a Soho It-girl. Cutesy but defiant, sheer mesh dresses are toughened up with burnished metal studs, while corseted micro skirts dangle from suspender straps. Ultra-cropped puffers, trimmed in fur, add a slouchy rebellion, while velour hoodies descend into exaggerated opera gloves. Acid-washed slim-fit jeans and flocked, velvety denim inject a worn-in grit, offset by slinky, dangerously cut leather.
The accessories steal the show: medieval-inspired leather boots, with jagged toes and concave wedged heels, stalk up the thigh like modern-day armour – reminding us that even at her most relaxed, the Knwls heroine is always battle-ready.
With its signature blend of grit and glamour, Knwls has once again nailed the Soho It-girl aesthetic, leaving fans poised to pounce the second Baby drops.
