The anime outlook of Sailor Moon was an inspiration for Carol Lim and Humberto Leon at Kenzo this winter. Their woman wasn’t cartoonish, although the colours slightly were – neon pinks and yellow ramping up the contrast on crazy leopards for puff-sleeve jacquard coats and narrow-shouldered suiting. Sleeves trailed over hands, fluffing and puffing prettily, their ruffles and pleats kind of catching onto a Lolita vibe, like kids playing dress up in Harajuku. That’s where the bright florals came from, glowing under hit lights. A fun, bright, poppy and peppy outing. Made us want to jump the next flight to Tokyo.
